New flexible sensor systems to optimize industrial production processes
Danish startup SHUTE delivers new types of flexible sensor systems which enable real time measurement of temperature, strain and humidity for optimizing industrial production processes, minimizing waste and increasing control of process conditions.
SHUTE has developed a sensor system for offshore fish farms, resulting in more efficient production with a smaller environmental footprint. They are the first company in the world to use polymer for fiber sensors, which are expandable, flexible, and more sensitive.
The product is the result of 10 years of research at DTU, the Technical University of Denmark. The last two years have been spent on designing an automated manufacturing method, standardization and bringing the cost to make the solution economically feasible. The technology is protected by two patents.
SHUTE’s technology which enables commercial use of polymer fiber sensors is attractive for new industries in the areas of:
• Concrete curing
• Windmill blade production
• Landslide warning
• Facility management
• Food storage
They are looking for industrial partners for development of new demonstration cases. If you can see that your business could benefit from SHUTE sensors, do not hesitate to contact them.
