Design By Sol is run by an industrial designer with a knack for user-centered design. We design solutions to problems by focusing intensely on the end-user, allowing us to think about them in totally new ways.
Bump Mark is a bio-reactive food expiry label that only goes bad when the food does, meaning that the avoidable food waste that over-cautious printed dates create can be reduced. It is a tactile label, which is felt with your fingertips – so when it feels smooth, the food is safe to eat, but when it goes bumpy, it’s time for the bin. The label can also react to indicate when a package has been left outside of the fridge too long, and reveal the bumps to warn against food poisoning.
