E-Bikes are a game-changer for person transportation: they offer highly flexible, energy-efficient mobility for commuting and leisure that unlocks the benefits of electric mobility at low cost.
This project demonstrates the integration of E-Bikes with bike sharing by providing a networked, intelligent E-Bike Transportation System. The scheme will be set up as a “Living Lab” with ElectricFeel’s innovative GPS-based analytics solution and aims to demonstrate the substitution of car commutes with E-Bikes. The results of the Living Lab will be used in assessing how such a system can be implemented in cities with pre-existing bike sharing systems, with two cities of the Climate-KIC regional network.
The project partners will dive into complex problems from charging of the E-Bike batteries, to real-time financing mechanisms, to the smart redistribution of the bikes, all aiming to find a scalable business model for E-Bike-Sharing.
