City of Gothenburg

Gothenburg is a port city with a strategic location between Oslo and Copenhagen. It has a population of around 570,000 and is Sweden’s second-largest city. The Gothenburg region, which spans 13 municipalities in Greater Gothenburg, has a population of 1.1 million.

The City of Gothenburg has adopted 12 environmental objectives that will help to create a good living environment both now and in the future. These environmental objectives, which in the majority of cases will be achieved by 2020, present the ecological dimension of the sustainable development of Gothenburg.
