EIT Climate-KIC, the City of Bologna, South Pole Group, AESS and international partners are inviting civil servants and experts in retrofitting public buildings and public procurement to a workshop in Bologna on Friday 13 July 2018.
Background
In the EU, buildings are responsible for 40 per cent of total energy consumption. Most European cities have a large existing building stock that does not meet current energy efficiency targets. The result is high greenhouse gas emissions and high costs for electricity, heating and cooling.
Technologies to retrofit buildings are available, however current retrofitting rates are very low. This workshop will show successful examples from European cities and their approach to retrofitting as part of an EU-funded project to accelerate retrofitting rates in public buildings.
Who should join?
Civil servants and experts working in the broader field of retrofitting of public buildings and public procurement interested in accelerating the rate of retrofitting.
