Elemental Water Makers

Renewable driven desalination

Climate-KIC Start-Up

Founding Year: 2012

Location: The Netherlands

Elemental Water Makers has developed an innovative renewable driven desalination system for drinking water production. With increasing fresh water scarcity and rising energy prices, there is a growing need for renewable driven desalination.

The solution provides potable water out of seawater or brackish groundwater using only the power from the sun or wind. The solution enables a constant desalination process, while using fluctuating renewable energy only. Avoiding the use of batteries, energy efficient operation and minimized maintenance result in lower water costs than current available alternatives, with no fossil fuels involved. This makes the solution very suitable for places with a lack of fresh water sources, where desalination can be used to provide access to fresh water.
