Call for applications: Climate-KIC Accelerator Programme recruits new start-ups in France

Climate-KIC France is seeking highly motivated and committed climate entrepreneurs for its start-up Accelerator programme. Cleantech and greentech projects are welcome.

Candidates to this call just need to have a breakthrough business idea with a substantial impact on climate mitigation and/or adaptation.

The Climate-KIC France Accelerator Programme offers support to start-ups development towards their first customers, during one year. The selected entrepreneurs benefit from coaching, consulting, networking and financial support. Through the Accelerator Programme selection, the four Climate-KIC operational themes can be addressed, for a positive climate impact.

Woodoo, Ynsect, Evolution Energie, nextProtein and Plume Labs are among the talented start-ups accelerated through the Climate-KIC France Acceleration Programme. A few of them were also finalist of the Climate-KIC European Venture Competition.

Start-up selection

Climate-KIC France team will make a first evaluation round of the candidates in early June. The most promising start-ups will be invited to pitch (+Questions & Answers) in front of an independent Jury in mid-June (tbd).

Start-ups will be evaluated along five main criteria:

  • Climate Relevance
  • Innovativeness of the start-up
  • Start-up team
  • Business model
  • Business Plan

The results of the application process will be circulated shortly after the pitches.

Applications to be linked to thematic areas

Climate KIC is organized along 4 operational themes:

*Decision Metrics and Finance

*Sustainable Land Use

*Sustainable Production Systems

*Urban Transitions

Each start-up candidate must indicate in the application template which theme(s) fits most its activity. Start-ups which do not fit into one of the themes are of course also warmly invited to apply to the Acceleration Programme.

Applications shall be sent in Pdf format, before May 31st, 2017, to Mr Etienne Claereboudt, Climate KIC France Entrepreneurship Manager: etienne.claereboudt@climate-kic.org
