Climate entrepreneurship

Inclusive Climate Innovation

In today’s climate innovation landscape, the best solutions emerge when diverse voices lead—not just participate. Yet women founders received just 2% of global venture capital funding. That means out of every $100 invested in new ideas, $98 goes to men.

At Climate KIC, we are working to change that. Our inclusive approach to innovation provides funding, skills development and tailored support for people from, or working with, communities most at risk to climate change. These include women and gender minorities, ethnic and racial minority groups, indigenous peoples, rural communities, disabled people, and those living in extreme poverty. By addressing barriers to access, we help leaders from these communities scale the impact of their ideas and drive the transition towards a more just and climate-resilient future.

Our services

We support start-ups, entrepreneurship support organisations (ESOs), investors and corporate partners to move beyond intention and take meaningful action on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). By combining practical business skills with insights on how to engage and support innovators from at-risk communities, we build stronger, more inclusive innovation ecosystems.

Training & mentorship

We help turn good intentions to measurable action on diversity, equity and inclusion.
