For 15 years, we’ve helped thousands of entrepreneurs transform bold ideas into thriving ventures by harnessing human ingenuity to tackle climate challenges in every corner of the globe. Our ClimAccelerators are delivered by local partners and equip start-ups with the tools, connections, and support they need to scale the impact of their climate solutions.

What sets our programme apart is a strong focus on impact measurement. Start-ups learn how to measure and forecast the social and environmental outcomes of their solutions. Climate KIC then offers in-kind support to those with the highest impact potential in exchange for future equity — helping to build a robust pipeline of climate innovations at the scale and speed needed for systemic change.

What does the programme offer?

The ClimAccelerator curriculum was designed for early-stage start-up founders developing solutions that have a positive impact on climate change. You’ll receive expert coaching, mentoring, and peer-to-peer learning from our worldwide network of industry, education and research partners. Plus, an science-backed assessment and validation of your solution’s impact potential, in terms of emissions mitigation, adaptation and resilience, or circularity. Take advantage of free workshops and webinars covering a range of new business topics. Plus, enjoy exclusive discounts on the tools you need to run your start-up.

Is funding provided?

Funding is dependent on the resources available from the delivery partner, but there are opportunities for post-programme financial support. Start-ups seeking investment are invited to submit their pitch deck to the Climate KIC Investment team for review. Climate KIC prioritises investor readiness support toward companies that have completed a ClimAccelerator programme and agree to sign a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE).

What does Climate KIC offer?

Tool & Training: Access exclusive learning content, coaching and mentoring networks, tailored for climate start-ups.
Impact Measurement: Integrate our easy-to-use methodology to assess and validate the climate impact of the start-ups you support.
Hands-On Support: The ClimAccelerator Team is here to guide you every step of the way with technical support and subject expertise.
Official Branding: Your accelerator becomes part of a bigger story powered by a globally recognised brand, in affiliation with the EU.
Financial Support: While Climate KIC does not directly fund the delivery of programmes, partnering with us
opens doors to a global network of investors and funders. We help ClimAccelerators connect with potential
sponsors, strengthen fundraising proposals through recommendation letters, and join exclusive sessions
with our investment team, helping you attract the resources you need to grow your impact.
Global Reach: Be a part of our global Community and exchange learnings with other Organisers.

What is expected of you?

Ensure consistent integration of the ClimAccelerator brand across all materials. Offer a standalone accelerator with a unique name and regional focus.
Partners must apply and structure their pilot programme to support startups within the same geographical area where their organization or company is located and actively present.
Support at least 7 climate-focused startups per batch. Startups must be regionally incorporated and aligned with local regulations.
Host a Demo Day to showcase startup progress and facilitate connections with investors and stakeholders.
Submit core data on the cohort, including key metrics and climate impact reports, contributing to the global ClimAccelerator community.

Who can deliver a programme?

Incubators: Entities that nurture climate innovation by providing early-stage startups with the necessary
support infrastructure, resources, and guidance to build scalable solutions.
Accelerators: Specialised organisations that offer structured programs to support early-stage climate
ventures, providing mentorship, access to networks, and potential funding opportunities.
Venture Builders: Organisations that actively co-create climate ventures by identifying market gaps and
providing hands-on support to develop and launch innovative businesses.
Universities and Research Institutions: Academic bodies and research organisations with a focus on
sustainability and climate innovation, capable of offering research-backed insights, talent development,
and access to cutting-edge technologies.
Joint-Consortium Applications: We highly encourage joint proposals that bring together multiple
organisations to collaborate on delivering and co-funding the ClimAccelerator program. Joint-consortium
applications can harness the unique strengths, expertise, and networks of each organisation to maximise
impact.
