The New European Bauhaus, announced by President von der Leyen in her 2020 State of the Union address, expresses the EU’s ambition to create beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive places, products and ways of living. The New European Bauhaus is a creative and interdisciplinary initiative, creating a space of encounter to design future ways of living, located at the crossroads between art, culture, social inclusion, science and technology.

The EIT created the largest innovation ecosystem in Europe with over 2,000 partners cooperating in over 60 hubs across Europe. Therefore, it is ideally placed to play a key role in the delivery and dissemination of the New European Bauhaus.

The EIT Community NEB – led by EIT Climate-KIC and participated by EIT Digital, EIT Food, EIT Manufacturing and EIT Urban Mobility – aims at supporting the New European Bauhaus to become real for European citizens, and to engage businesses, artists, designers, researchers, universities, and decision-makers to catalyse the movement. To that end, the EIT Community NEB accelerates the most promising ventures, promotes citizen and city/region initiatives, and fosters discussions around New European Bauhaus solutions to day-to-day issues.
