Dr Kirsten DunlopChief Executive Officer
Dr Kirsten Dunlop joined EIT Climate-KIC in 2017.
Her career spans academia, consulting, banking, insurance, strategy, design, innovation and leadership, across three continents, with pioneering work in strategic risk, business model transformation and leadership.
Her vision for EIT Climate-KIC is to offer a capability in systems transformation, resilience and regeneration through innovation.
Tom MitchellChief Strategy Officer
With 15 years’ experience of working on climate change policy and research, Dr. Tom Mitchell has a PhD in climate and disaster risk management and has published widely on climate resilience. Before joining EIT Climate-KIC, Tom led the climate change team at the Overseas Development Institute, supported UN policy on disaster risk reduction and served as a coordinating lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

With over 20 years of experience in strategy and innovation, business development and operational management, Dr Maite Ibarretxe joined EIT Climate-KIC in May 2021. Previous roles included Head of Global Operations and Innovation of the Laudes Foundation (C&A group) and Chief Operating Officer for the International Water Association. She is a business lawyer by education and a senior lecturer in Innovation and Sustainable Businesses at UIBS United International Business Schools in Amsterdam and the Cambridge Judge Business School.

Péter HalászPeople Team Orchestrator
With over 20 years of experience in leading international HR teams, Péter Halász joined EIT Climate-KIC in September 2021. Previous roles included Head of Human Resources East Europe and Asia at KWS Group, a world-leading plant seed producer, with activities in over 70 countries, as well as leading HR roles at Ringier Publishing and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hungary. He holds an MSc degree in Organisational Development and university degrees in Diplomacy and Economics. Furthermore, Péter is passionate about nature, trail-running and supporting people in their growth.
