Climathon 2026

Climathon events bring citizens together to raise awareness and inspire systemic climate action. A Climathon event is planned and coordinated by independent organisers and organisations. It can happen in-person, hybrid or virtually, and the event typically lasts 12-48 hours where participants collaborate to tackle local climate challenges. 

Climathon has been organised since 2015 with about 600 organisers, 1,000 events and over 30,000 participants worldwide. 

Any organisation can apply for becoming a Climathon Organiser, including and not limited to: SMEs, incubators, accelerators, universities, city councils, NGOs, research institutions. As a local organiser, you will be leading everything on the ground, making sure that the Climathon runs smoothly. Climate KIC is there to support you throughout this journey.

The Climathon Organiser license is a feature exclusively available to Climate KIC Community members. Please note that a membership is necessary to get access to our resources and trainings.

By obtaining the license to become a Climathon Organiser, you’ll get access to:

As a member of Climate KIC Community, you can also participate in the wider Community activities, such as:

• In-person community gatherings, such as our Collaborative Laboratories (CoLabs) 
• Policy updates 
• & more.. 

To reinforce the Climathon movement across the world, Global Climathon Days are happening this year too. All organisers are encouraged to host their event from 12 and 18 October 2026 to ensure better visibility and amplification of results. 
That’s not all! To allow a wider participation and better preparation, we have decided to double up the appointment. Global Climathon Days will also take place in March 2027 (dates to be confirmed). We invite you to apply for this call even if you consider to organise it in 2027.
