Regine Kreitz new EIT Climate-KIC Director of Marketing and Communications

Regine Kreitz will join EIT Climate-KIC, the European Union’s leading climate innovation initiative on 1 May 2020. As Director of Marketing and Communications, she will also be a member of the Executive Board.

EIT Climate-KIC is headquartered in Amsterdam. From its 13 European centres it runs programmes in over 30 European countries. EIT Climate-KIC has also set up links with innovation centres in the U.S., Australia, Israel and China. Kreitz will manage the organisation’s overall communications from its Berlin office, reporting to the CEO of EIT Climate-KIC, Kirsten Dunlop.

Kreitz is moving from the Hertie School in Berlin, an international public policy school, where she has led communications and marketing since 2010. She is also president of BdKom, the largest association of communications professionals in Germany.

EIT Climate-KIC CEO Kirsten Dunlop said,

“We are delighted to welcome Regine Kreitz to the EIT Climate-KIC team. Regine’s extensive experience and thoughtfulness about the role of communications in supporting public policy and transformation are incredibly relevant for our work at a time that is crucial for the success of the European climate agenda. We know we must coordinate and connect innovations to enable our social, economic and financial systems to evolve more quickly. This is at the core of Climate-KIC’s work. Effective communications and powerful storytelling are central to mobilising people to act together and essential to support decision makers and communities to draw upon the experience of innovation to embrace change. We look forward to working with Regine to explore how we can go further and faster by building on each other’s experiences.”

About EIT Climate-KIC

EIT Climate-KIC is Europe’s leading Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) working to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy. Headquartered in Amsterdam, it was established in 2010 and is funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.

EIT Climate-KIC is active in 39 countries globally, and operates from 13 hubs across Europe, including regional offices in Bologna, Brussels, London, Warsaw, Paris and Berlin. EIT Climate-KIC co-ordinates a network of more than 400 partners, including companies, universities and research institutions, cities and public authorities, and non-governmental organisations.

EIT Climate-KIC uses systems innovation to effect change in whole places and value chains. It runs programmes in entrepreneurship, education and research and in 2019 launched a programme of ‘Deep Demonstrations’ as a testbed environment for large-scale, orchestrated change.

EIT Climate-KIC has in recent years enabled more than 2000 climate-friendly business ideas to get off the ground. In the coming years, EIT Climate-KIC will offer a strong framework and community for implementing the European Green Deal by accelerating the transition not just of individual organisations, but of entire systems including cities, countries, regions and whole value chains.
