Climate KIC’s secrets for successfully running accelerators revealed in “Accelerate This!”
Climate KIC has been featured in “Accelerate This!”, a recently released book written by Ryan Kushner—also known as ‘The Accelerator Guy’—which boasts interviews and tips from over 70 of the world’s best programmes including Y Combinator, Techstars, 500 Startups, Cleantech Open, Google/Alphabet X, The Buckminster Fuller Institute and many more.
Climate KIC was invited to contribute its vast experience in managing accelerators—knowledge gleaned from training over 300 start-ups each year.
In 2017, Climate-KIC was invited to the Accelerate Energy Summit in Shanghai, where Renato Galli, Start-up Community Manager, Climate KIC, participated as a representative and met the “Accelerate This!” team:
“During this summit, there was lots of knowledge sharing of best practices for running accelerator programmes in cleantech, climate and energy entrepreneurship,” said Galli. “The attendees were mostly programme managers, representatives, and executives from organisations who work in this field and run start-up programmes.”
Launched on 25 September, “Accelerate This” aims to teach readers how to understand accelerators from the perspective of an entrepreneur, investor, or organisation or government, how to grow an idea into a business through ‘lean’ start-up techniques, a business model canvas and customer development, as well as how to create an accelerator program—or run one better.
