Following the announcement that the UK has voted to leave the European Union, Climate-KIC would like to reassure its partners, particularly those in the UK, that it is working with the authorities in London and Brussels to ensure that operations will continue as “business as usual.” Climate-KIC will remain a pan-European, EU-funded partnership.
Climate change is a global, societal challenge, so regardless of EU member status, Climate-KIC partners are committed to working across Europe to build new game-changing innovation that supports the transition to a net zero carbon economy. Climate-KIC currently has 200 partner organisations across Europe, from both within and outside the EU.
Since 2010, Climate-KIC has trained over 1,600 postgraduates and innovators in enterprise creation, supported 170 start-ups who have subsequently raised €200m+ of new investment, and we have enabled €1.8 billion in climate innovation across Europe.
