The European Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda as driver for a transition to a circular economy: the CICERONE project

LOCATION
Online
DATE
Nov 5 ~ 14:30

Ecomondo session

The European Action Plan for Circular Economy (2015 and 2020) has highlighted the need to implement concrete action to encourage the transition to a circular economy in Europe. However, funding for circular economy initiatives in the EU is currently fragmented, leading to suboptimal resource allocation and untapped potential for synergies.

For this reason, the EU-funded CICERONE project has been tasked to deliver a new European Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda and define mechanisms for joint programming initiatives. The main results of CICERONE, also in connection with the New Circular Economy Action Plan and the Green Deal, will be presented.
