From Policy to Bankability: Financing Climate-Positive Energy Projects for the Energy Union
An online event under the umbrella of European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW 2026).
Achieving a clean, secure and competitive Energy Union requires more than ambitious policy targets—it depends on turning climate-positive energy ideas into real, scalable projects.
Across Europe, many sustainable energy initiatives struggle to access finance. While they align with policy goals and climate objectives, they often lack the structure, clarity or visibility needed to attract investment. In this context, improving the investment readiness of clean energy projects is essential to accelerate the energy transition, mobilise capital, and deliver real-world impact.
The event explores how climate-positive energy projects can become investment-ready and successfully move from concept to implementation. Bringing together perspectives from policy, finance and innovation, the session will:
- highlight key barriers to financing clean energy projects
- explain what makes a project attractive to investors
- showcase practical approaches to improving project readiness
- explore how collaboration can unlock investment and scale solutions
