Philea Forum 2026 — Philanthropy for People and Planet

Superkilen park in Copenhagen
LOCATION
Copenhagen, Denmark
DATE
18-21 May 2026

Climate KIC joins the Philea Forum 2026, Europe’s leading gathering of philanthropic foundations and ecosystem actors, hosted this year by a group of Danish foundations in Copenhagen.

The forum convenes a global gathering of delegates to explore philanthropy’s role in supporting equitable and just transitions, and how the sector can move from identifying challenges to implementing solutions, translating insights into initiatives. The theme of “Philanthropy for People and Planet” runs through every area of the programme, treating critical challenges as interconnected rather than isolated areas of work.

Old tactics won't cut it: How to win hearts in a new media and information space

Room: Lumbye

Everything we thought we knew about news, media and facts is shifting. Expertise no longer guarantees credibility, and fragmented information spaces risk deepening divides. How do we adapt, sustain independent media, and connect in ways that matter? This session invites funders to engage critically, share lessons, and reimagine how media and philanthropy can drive change in a post-truth era.

Learning objectives:

  • Self-reflect on the role of media within climate change communications strategies and theories of impact
  • Examine how support for journalism connects with and reinforces other interconnected issues (climate change, democracy, human rights, etc.)
  • Assess how communication strategies can remain adaptive and relevant in an ever-evolving media landscape

Speakers:

  • Audrey Gueudet, Strategic Communications Director, European Climate Foundation
  • Chloé Mikolajczak, Campaigner, The Bridge
  • Maribel Koeniger, Director Journalism and Media, ERSTE Foundation
  • Kirsten Dunlop, CEO, Climate KIC
