What it is

The European Union has recognised the growing need for sustainable growth in rural areas, where bioeconomy solutions hold significant potential to drive both long-term economic growth and environmental sustainability.

This is an opportunity for rural actors to network, amplify knowledge exchange, and reflect together on what could be cross-territorial solutions in the circular bioeconomy.

FoodCoP is a “Community of Practice” funded by Horizon Europe that connects, supports, and trains local and regional actors in rural Europe to adopt circular bioeconomy strategies.

What to expect

In this 3-hour session, we are planning to choose challenges explored through the FoodCoP programme to work on concrete solutions to SOLVE them. This session is not just a discussion; it will be action -focused, thinking about the constraints we need to mitigate and what could be tested and implemented to make these solutions work. The ultimate aim is to maximise the value creation of our community of practice by focusing on practical learning and opportunities that can make an impact.

Who's behind it

The session will be led by Marlene Zanier (Climate KIC), who brings extensive experience in circularity and agri-food systems, as well as in sensemaking, strategic learning, and impact-driven innovation. She works closely with governments and startup ecosystems to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions, making this a highly practical and insightful session.
