Nord Universitet

Nord University is a young university with strong regional ties and a global perspective. We are located in central and Northern-Norway, stretching across 40 percent of the Norwegian coastline. Nord University has 13,000 students and 1,200 employees distributed in 5 faculties: the Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture, the Faculty of Education and Arts, the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences, Business School and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Nord University has been active on EU level since the framework FP7 where two projects have been funded (Supporting families and EURO-BASIN). Currently we have 6 H2020 EU projects ongoing, three of them on aquaculture (MONSTAA, EPIFISH and EPIMARK), one on maritime security (ARCSAR), one in Climate change adaptation (JUSTNORTH) and one on health (INNOVATEDIGNITY). We also have 2 ERA-NET cofund H2020 project on gender equality (GENRE) and aquaculture (BESTBROOD). Nord is receiving more than 3 million EUR from European Commission. We also participate in other EU programmes such as INTERREG and Erasmus + .
Despite young and small university, NORD has received two prestigious ERC grants on aquaculture. We continue our effort to deliver high level research in European level and currently we?re actively working in interdisciplinary topics on Horizon Europe program.
