Cirad is the organisation for agronomic research and international cooperation for the sustainable development of tropical and Mediterranean regions in France.
Their activities fall under the topics of life sciences, social sciences and engineering sciences in application to agriculture, nutrition, the environment and territorial management. They work within large thematic areas such as food security, climate change, natural resource management, reduction of inequality and the fight against poverty.
With their southern partners, Cirad produces and disseminates knowledge to accompany agricultural innovation and development. They apply their scientific and institutional expertise to public policy in the Global South and international debates regarding major challenges in agriculture. They lend their support to France’s scientific diplomacy.
