EIT House open for business: European innovation has a new home in Brussels

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), creator and supporting body of Climate-KIC, welcomed key EU figures to the launch of its new events and exhibition space this Wednesday –  EIT House.

Commissioner Tibor Navracsics, MEP Henna Virkkunen, MEP Lambert van Nistolerooij, and Director General EAC Martine Reicherts joined representatives from Climate-KIC, the EIT community, and EIT funded start-ups for a virtual tour of EIT community activity and a panel discussion on the future of innovation.

Mike Cherrett, Climate-KIC’s Director of European Affairs said: “Climate-KIC is proud to build strong relations in Brussels with our EIT community colleagues. The presence of the EIT House in the heart of Brussels will enable increased awareness of the EIT among key players in the European landscape and provide space for members of the EIT community to share expertise more effectively.”

Climate-KIC start-up SiOx, runner up of the 2016 Venture Competition, showcased their innovative anti-corrosion heat transfer technology to the Commissioner and other guests, demonstrating the important role the EIT plays in supporting entrepreneurs to bring game-changing ideas to market
