EIT Climate-KIC is a knowledge and innovation community established in 2010 and funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. Our purpose is to tackle climate change through innovation.
We are Europe’s largest public-private partnership with this purpose. At the heart of our endeavour is a pan-European community of innovators and changemakers eager to work on tough challenges, willing to engage in ambitious and unorthodox experiments, and committed to collective learning.

We act as a multi-sided platform, working across boundaries and across sectors, fostering innovation as a catalyst for transformation. We work together with problem owners, like city and regional governments, industry owners and directors, community organisations and policy makers, to orchestrate a portfolio approach to innovation interventions. We facilitate the creation of innovation consortia. We challenge and seek to enrich business model design. We offer tailored support for experimentation, implementation and scaling. We provide funding. We incubate very early stage ideation and pre-seed innovation with a view of contributing to systemic change. We place an emphasis on education as a driver of behavioural change through new skills and capabilities and on policy innovation. Purpose of the role
The CEE Communication Lead will undertake and coordinate PR & marketing for the organisation in CEE (Central and Eastern European) countries.
We are looking for motivated, experienced communication professional with strong knowledge of climate change issues and a will to act.
- Developing and implementing a PR and communication strategy supporting and creating a presence for EIT Climate-KIC CEE in the CEE climate innovation ecosystem covering 9 countries (BG, CZ, EST, HU, LT, LV, PL, RO, SK)
- Providing strategic insight and implementation support to position the EIT Climate-KIC visibility in CEE
- Overseeing, everyday management and development of PR and marketing materials with internal and external partners and development of original content for digital and other media channels
- Acting as a liaison between the European communications team and the EIT Climate-KIC CEE for aspects related to internal communication
- Communication budget management
- Planning and coordinating events, incl. integrated communication plans around events
- Maintain and update EIT Climate-KIC local websites
- Creating, developing and publish marketing materials for print, Social Media and website (Adobe Suite skills preferred)
- Ongoing management of social media channels and reporting results
- University degree (masters or PhD) in relevant field
- More than 5 years of experience in relevant context, ideally in climate-related areas
- Exceptional skills in popularizing scientific knowledge and persuasive writing
- Experience of working at the interface between the public and private sector
- Good understanding of the interaction between research, education and business desired
- Strong ability to reconcile differing expectations, objectives and requirements of multiple organisations and stakeholder to create collaborative solutions
- Familiarity with the skills and knowledge needs of organizations working on climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Experience and ability to work in an international team and in a multidisciplinary context
- Fluent in Polish and English
