What we are looking for

We are looking for innovators and entrepreneurs with new ideas to counter climate change.

If you are working as a team and want to create a startup based around a new technology or service with high potential for both commercial viability and climate impact, then the Accelerator Programme is for you.

Every year, Climate-KIC Accelerator supports over 150 startups in Europe, and this number is still growing. Have a look at our startups and see how you compare:

In three stages of six months each, our 18-month program brings you the knowledge, resources, tools and coaching a cleantech startup needs for success in the market.

Stage one: fundamentals

The first stage is intended to help early-stage startups refine and develop their idea, build a financial model and gain industry feedback. This stage comes with a grant of up to €10,000.

Stage two: validation

The second stage helps move startups with a well-formulated business model to the next phase: solving real problems and acquiring customers. The grant for stage two is up to €25,000.

Stage three: delivery

The third stage helps prepare fully-fledged startups for investment and scaling. You will be supported in preparation for negotiations with potential investors, and introduced to Climate-KIC’s network of investor contacts and partners. The admitted startups will receive a final grant of €50,000.

How it works

The next application phase will start in July 2017. An application link can be found on this website after this date.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend a two-day startup camp to help them prepare their business case for presentation to the review committee.

The best startups will join the Climate-KIC Accelerator Programme.
