Underfloor insulation with robots

Climate-KIC Start-Up

Founding Year: 2012

Location: UK

In many of our older properties once easy treatments have been installed, more heat is lost through the floor than the roof. Insulating under the floor gets rid of cold draughts, makes cold floors warmer and lags hot water pipes, as well as saving an estimated £200-£400/year in lower energy bills for a typical house.

Currently floor, internal wall and external wall insulation is labour intensive, expensive and has a wide range of practical problems. q-bot makes it easy to insulate our homes, minimising disruption, cost and time, and in many cases doing so without even needing to access the property. The company has developed ‘robots’ to apply insulation in hard to reach areas, such as under the floor without any of the hassle of traditional methods.
