New design for the audio jack plug
The audio jack connection of 30 million smartphones breaks in the first year of usage. We found out that this translates to $50 million warranty costs for smartphone developers, which we can eliminate. Future customers told us that our new design not only saves on warranty costs, but will also increase brand loyalty and boost sales because of the new innovative look.
We connect the wires of the headset, with a press fit connection, on the inside of the plug that goes into the device. Therefore the wire is the only component sticking out of the device when plugged in, the solder protecting hard sleeve is not necessary anymore. Eliminating all stresses that normally act on this part and cause jack failure and breakage of the headset. Also enabling a material reduction of 43%!
