Waste 2.0

Intelligent Environmental Services for Urban Areas

Waste 2.0 looks at urban waste management fleets as a major source of carbon emissions. The project is developing a platform based on sensors and low-energy information devices to provide real-time data to dispatch of cleaning and waste pick-up vehicles. Initial surveys and estimations suggest that significant resource efficiencies could be made by municipal operators particularly in diesel usage.
