These two-day programme for experienced professionals offer the chance to take climate action through enhancing your knowledge and understanding of climate change issues. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and real-life cases and challenges, a holistic view on the numerous topics in the climate change arena is presented and change makers are equipped with the tools to make a positive impact on our climate.

In line with Climate-KIC’s mission to address the challenge of climate change, the enablement of change makers within both private and public organisations is a key element. The Short Courses will equip experienced professionals with the necessary competencies and capabilities to be the agents of change in their own environment.

Who is it for?

The Short Courses are for experienced professionals that have a background in the thematic focus of the specific Short Course. We are looking for participants with a strong focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation and with the enthusiasm and potential to influence organisational change.

What is it about? 

Equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to incorporate climate conscious decisions in their own environment, the Short Courses make transition happen at local scale. Further, through the Short Courses, a network of professionals with an interest in climate change related topic is created. The network will include a broad scale of actors and builds up on the world-class Climate-KIC network, including leading research institutions, top universities, public institutions and companies.

The Short Courses are international, stimulating and practitioner oriented. Instead of merely focusing on the provision of theoretical knowledge, the programme highlight the development of practical skills, cross-disciplinary thinking and action.

Who can participate?

The Short Courses are aimed at experienced professionals that have a background in the thematic focus of the specific Short Course. We are looking for participants with a strong focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation and with the enthusiasm and potential to influence organisational change.

Please find out more about the specific target groups in the respective edition of the Short Course. Generally, we welcome:

  • Public institutions, such as local government or municipalities
  • Private institutions, whether corporates or SMEs
  • Civil society, NGOs
  • Universities & research institutions

Each edition will have 20- 30 international participants from positions in different sorts of organisations.

Fee

The full course fee for each 2-day course is €800 and covers:

  • All programme activities
  • Refreshments and lunch
  • Group dinner

Participants will need to cover their own travel costs to/from the location, as well as accommodation. Discounts can apply to participants from NGOs, public authorities and Start-ups. Please contact the local project manager of each edition to make sure to benefit from a 50% fee reduction if you fall into one of the afore mentioned categories. 

It also makes sense to apply as soon as possible in order to take advantage of a 20 per cent ‘early-bird’ discount.
