Helsinki will be carbon neutral by 2035. The ambitious Climate Action Plan engages the entire City organization and across the stakeholder community of residents, business sector, expert organizations and academia. We will achieve our goal of sensible energy consumption and low-emission public transport collaboratively with an increase in the share of renewable energy production together with the city-owned energy company Helen. The majority of the emissions come from housing, transport and private consumption, which is why consistent participation work is in a key role towards all of the city’s residents.
