Agriculture and Innovation under Climate Change #JourneyToParis

Climate-KIC and its partners present how the Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) programme is developing services to boost the development, exploitation and large-scale adoption of CSA Solutions in Europe along the value chains of dairy, meat, fruit and wine.

This event takes place at the Grand Palais in central Paris, Conference room 1, from 1500 – 16:50.

Content and speakers

This event will include:

An opening speech on Climate-Smart Agriculture in the current economic, environmental and political context by Jean-François Soussana (Scientific Director Environment at INRA)

• An introduction to Climate-KIC and CSA Booster: European players facilitating the transition towards climate-smart agricultural production in Europe by Mary   Ritter (International Ambassador for Climate-KIC)
• Pitches by representatives of large agri-food companies based in France, Italy and The Netherlands: Sebastien Payen (Fruition Science), Marco Caliceti (Confagricoltura) and Jaap Petraeus (Friesland Campina)
• A panel discussion with Elmar Theune (Ministry of Economic Affairs, Netherlands), Nick Major (ForFarmers, United Kingdom), a representative of the SAI Platform, Daniel Spengler (GeoForschungsZentrum, Germany), Noreen Lanigan (Bord Bia-Irish Food Board) and Edie Sonne Hall from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
