Mary Ritter, the Climate-KIC CEO, described the alumni association as an "important and highly innovative project". In particular, she highlighted the process to become a legal entity and to become affiliate partner in Climate-KIC.

The alumni board stated that their focus is on maintaining and driving a network of people with a passion for climate change and entrepreneurship. They were eager to take up the challenge and to put in sustainable energy to further develop the Climate-KIC alumni association. They are particularly keen to harness the enthusiasm and input from other alumni, students and PiPs and can be contact by email.

Valuable input was gathered during two days of workshops and discussions. Alumni, students and PiPs were asked for their vision and mission of this new association. In addition, three representatives of the Erasmus Mundus Alumni (EMA) association shared their views on establishing an alumni association in European context.

The gathered ideas and the positive vibe suggest a great start to become, as said by Mary Ritter, "A key component of our climate community and definitely a flagship, another flagship for Climate-KIC".
